Default Wintersday gift giver

i logged in today thinking i should really trade in my stack of cc shards for presents, only to find all the wintersday NPC's have diappeared already!

i was under the impression that the gift giver would hang around for a while so that peopel weren't stuck with shards all year. Do i now have to wait until next qwintersday to trade the shards in?

doh! i thought about trading them in yesterday, but then thought 'oh, it's ok wintersday hasn't even finished yet, they won't just remove the npc's without telling anyone.' silly me. well i suppose they'll just have to sit in storage then.

btw, nice avatar, claymore ftw.

You can slavage them into dust, that'll fit in the crafting tab, otherwise they don't fit there.

Someone might buy them, you never know.

This is weird as shards are still dropping for me????? A bit pointless with no-where to trade them in.

shards are still dropping? that sounds like a mistake on their part, hopefully they'll bring back the NPC for a while then to counter the mistake. c.f. solution for event lag = free hats.

I had 60 shards from last year which gave me a nice start, never throw anything away I say.
Maybe thats why I still have 48 naga fangs left from the Tengu festival.

They used to leave the trader npc in for 1 week from previous events if i remember
and remove all the quest npc.
Maybe the update to remove the quest ones also took out the Trader Npc by mistake It has happened before so just wait a few days
and see if there is another small update to add it back in.
If not save em for next year and get a head start on collecting lol

thats what i was hoping for, otherwise i'll have to make space in my storage or dump them on a mule, since i have ~350 it would be a shame to let them go to waste .

I didn't feel the need to stress over it. The merchant gave me 1 gp each for them. Now HE'S stuck with them. HAHAHAHA! Who's the idiot now?!?!?!

They're not going to do that again. Factions has been out for almost 2 years now, and they only did Day of the Tengu once, before Factions was released.
